- Answer Yes. My stand is still in its original packaging (plastic bag) and I'm using a VESA 100 mount monitor arm with this monitor instead. This model (S32DG80*S) just needs four M4 screws (7.5mm to 10.5mm in length) to attach it to a standard VESA 100x100 mount.

- Answer RTINGS measured 40 Gbps (FRL 10×4), while TFTCentral lists 48 Gbps. In practice, both HDMI ports carry 4K240 with DSC, so everyday capability is the same.

QuestionWill the G80SD support DisplayPort Alt Mode using 4K 240hz VESA DP80 certified USB-C to DP 2.1 cable? The G80SD will not recognize my PC! it works perfectly with my G7 2K 240hz in DP Alt. Multiple Samsung tech support reps could not provide the answer.

- Answer The monitor has no USB-C input and its DisplayPort input is DP 1.4 (with DSC) - not DP 2.1 - so a USB-C→DP cable must rely on your computer’s USB-C DP Alt Mode to output DP 1.4+DSC. Many laptops/adapters cap at 4K120 over USB-C→DP, and some combinations fail handshakes; the cable’s DP80 rating won’t change the monitor’s DP 1.4 limit. For the most reliable 4K240, use a GPU’s full-size DisplayPort 1.4 (DSC) output or HDMI 2.1 from the GPU with a certified cable.

- Answer Sort of. The picture itself is awful if you want to do any video work and photo editing and if you want to calibrate the monitor, you have to scan the QR code and then register for a Samsung account first. It's best to get a monitor with no bloatware disguised as a way for you to sign up for their services.
