The WA422 is designed to draw from both the hot and cold water supplies in order to reach the set temperature. However, if the water has been sitting in your hot water pipe for a while, it may have cooled. Running the hot water from a nearby faucet until the water actually comes out hot should enable the hot water to fill properly. This may be the reason that some of your wash loads are getting hot water and others are not. For example, if the first load you wash is luke warm but the second is hot, it may be because the first load flushed the cold water from the hot water pipe. To help ensure the appropriate temperatures, it may also help to clean the inlet hose screens on the back of the washer periodically to remove any debris. Please also make sure both the hot and cold water valves are turned on all the way, and your home's water pressure is sufficient (20-116psi). I hope these suggestions help to resolve the issue.
