I don't know the exact measured amount, but it uses very little. The washer is a low-water washing machine also known as a High Efficiency washer (HE). Although it uses very little water, it does clean exceptionally well. We have 3 cats, it gets all the cat fur off our dark clothes with ease and clothes come out smelling fresh and clean.
