I had this happen to me. What I did to correct it was unplug the power from the back of the DVD box for about 10 seconds and then plugged it back in. The box reset itself and the sound worked like it did when I first installed it.

When doing a sound test in the Sound setting, all speakers work individually and perfectly. But when I play a 5.1 surround test from a Youtube clip, it all mixed up. On the first installation, everything was fine.
