Sort of like how a wireless keyboard works without bluetooth. Also, you can bypass that and pick up wireless headphone set specifically made for tvs. TV Ears is a brand i have used and seen at Best Buy and Online. Sharper Image and others sell other brands and styles. Search for Wireless TV heahones.

With any flat screen they desperately need a sound bar as there is no real space for decebt speaker sizes. A blue tooth soundbar would use tv fiber optic dolby output so you can link that way as well.
