The TV is standard 60hz, but it uses advanced processing to create a 120 motion rate, something that helps create that more "real" look. Many people choose to turn that off. Every brand has their own advanced engine for the motion rate. Some are doing 240, which greatly improves ghosting and blur at high speeds.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I read that the signal always comes to your cable box at 60hrz and the TV upconverts it from there. So all tvs have a true refresh rate of 60, but some sets will upconvert to 120 or 240.
