A:AnswerGreat question, Maggie! First, I'd like to provide this link (https://bit.ly/3y7P5cK) that has in depth information about the different cycles and settings available on Samsung washers, as well as when and how to use them. If the rug you are wanting to wash has a rubber or slip resistant bottom (as most do) you would need to use the Bedding/Waterproof cycle to prevent damage to the washer. ^Jecca
A:AnswerThe Samsung washer lid is ridiculously slanted forward and down. One cannot place anything on top without it sliding off.
Poor design, a major flaw preventing my recommending it.
Reason: Could the slanted lid be an attempt to appear esthetically more sleek or "modern?" If one attempts to place a piece of clothing on top along side a spot removal spray bottle, the bottle falls over the the cloths sljde off. Horrible design!
A:AnswerIt comes with the drain hose, which is very short. If your drain is directly behind the washer, you will be fine. My drain is behind the dryer so I needed to add an extension. Extensions are available at most hardware stores for about $15.
A:AnswerHi Eileen! This model has a "Self Clean" cycle that we recommend running about every 20 washes. The self clean cycle helps to remove dirt and bacteria from the drum. This improves the overall cleaning performance, and helps to prevent the spread of germs and bacteria. ^Jecca
A:AnswerFantastic question, TimeLordMomma! I can provide this link (https://bit.ly/3tM2lBS) to the user manual for this model. Page 17 has a diagram with the dimensions of the washer with the lid open. ^Jecca
A:AnswerYes! The 2 men that delivered were very professional and courteous. It was done in no time and even allowed me the extra time to clean between them taking the old ones out and bringing the new ones in.
A:AnswerWhen in the self clean mode, the washer uses the hottest water supplied to it. This would be limited to the max temperature set on your hot water heater.
A:AnswerThis washer does not have an Agitator (the little thing in the middle). It is Impeller. I guess that is how there is 5 cu ft space in it. Also coming from an older washing machine, man this one is quiet and it is also a treat to have a transparent top to see whats going on. I like the machine so far.
A:AnswerI washed Three of them. You have to fold the comfort cover in half, then fold it in half again (three to four times in total). you must then fold it into a fan like structure and place it in the washers drum sideways (not flat). I would also wet the cover before adding to washer as the machine determines the weight of the item when you start up. If water is not added to give more weight you will not have enough water in the drum to adequately wash the cover, and will have to use the add water (cold water only, no choice), to the desired level, washer weighs the dry clothing and adds water according to it's weight. Please note the more water you add the longer washining time will occur. The first time I used this feature, it took over three hours to wash, rinse, and spin. This washer is not like the older washing machines due to Federal regulations. I had a Kenmore that I owned for more than 10 years nothing was wrong with it. My wife wanted the upgrade, and matching dryer. If I knew then what I know now, I'd still have the Kenmore. This is a very complicated washer all electronics, not the old motor, and transmissions of the older washing machines (yes, the older machines had transmissions, and motors). The first washer was replaced after four days. This one is working as it was designed thus far. Buy the extended warranty, I think it is necessary. One other thing, when washing trousers, you have to zip them up and turn inside out to prevent zippers from scratching the drum, also the same must be done with shirts with buttons (button them up and turn inside out. Bras and items with hooks need to be washed in a mesh laundry bag. Hope this helps
