I didn't purchase a new pedestal but will be looking to purchase one soon. It seems low to the floor and sometimes difficult to get small items out of the washer without the base pedestal.

Typically front loaders have a piece that attaches and supports the drum that fails from the harsh water and detergents. This unit has a direct drive motor that should prevent this failure as it does not have the same construction.
