Does your receiver have an HDMI ARC connection? The HDMI 3 connection on this TV has Audio Return Channel (ARC) capabilities. The same cable that receives the A/V from my receiver sends any audio from the TV back to the receiver. I'm not an expert, but I don't think the audio from the HDMI input you are using for the blu ray may be routed to be sent back out from the TV. Not all the HDMI inputs are routed exactly the same, some have different functionality. You may want to run sound directly from the blu ray player to the receiver, or look for a receiver with HDMI pass through. I have one of these receivers and all the sound from the TV plays via surround without any lag or noise when changing sources. Your receiver will always react in some way when you change sources, it has to have time to react to the new audio it is being fed.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Optical out does not do 5.1. Only the ARC HDMI connector is 5.1 so you need to have an ARC connector on your receiver to connect the HDMI from the tv. The ARC HDMI is labeled on the TV
