A:AnswerIn doing a search it sounds that both have good things going for it. The side lit TVs are thinner and lighter. The back lit are thinner and a little heavier. In the articles I read, the back lit complement the changing colors more effectively. Based on there names, I would think light is reflected on the rear wall more with the back lit. I'm not sure about thr side lit.
I don't know why it would affect the sound one way or another.
