  • QuestionDoes it have download capabilities for new apps on this TV that are not currently stored on it?

    Asked by Dude.

    • Answer It basically has it's own internal "Roku" (but not that brand) so you can download channels and what not like a Roku. Except for Peackock TV I was able to download everything on our Roku and almost don't even need a Roku except for Peacock tv (as mentioned.

  • QuestionHanging scew

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer I used M8 x 1.25mm x 25mm machine screws to hang my un558000fxza. They're available at hardware stores or samsungparts.com. Best Buy probably also sells them. I've seen lengths varying from 25mm to 43mm in various answers, and it probably depends on which wall mount you use. So you might want a kit with several lengths. For my Rocketfish mount from Best Buy, I was able to use 22mm with washers to get me to the just-right 25mm length.

  • QuestionCan this 8 series set be connected to an old stereo with RCA jacks ?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer The TV has ports for RCA-style connectors. I have them connected for input from my DVD player, so it plays through the TV. I'm not sure, though, about output from the TV to play through a stereo amplifier or receiver. I think I've connected an older stereo to an older TV that way before, using just the red and white RCA jacks for audio. But I might be remembering wrongly. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

  • QuestionAre the HDMI ports 2.1?

    Asked by Miguel.

    • Answer From seekingtech.com review: The TU8000 has three HDMI ports. Unfortunately, none are HDMI 2.1, which is recommend if you want to get the most out of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox One Series X. Instead, all three ports are HDMI 2.0. https://seekingtech.com/is-the-samsung-tu8000-tv-good-for-ps5-xbox-series-x-and-other-gaming-consoles/#:~:text=Does%20the%20Samsung%20TU8000%20have,three%20ports%20are%20HDMI%202.0.

  • QuestionDoes this TV need a sound bar? If yes, can I use my current Sony 2.1 Channel Sound Bar purchased at Best Buy in 2016? Legs of this TV are longer than Sony Sound Bar....will it fit under TV with legs extending beyond?

    Asked by MPS826.

    • Answer If I'm looking at the right Sony soundbar at Best Buy (model HTS200F), the width is 23 inches and the depth is 3.8 inches. So it seems it would fit in the TV stand width (37.5 inches) and depth (9.9 inches). The Sony I found has an optical input, which would match this TV's optical output. But it has no HDMI input. So you wouldn't be able to use the TV's eARC HDMI output, which as I understand allows enhanced audio and lets you control the soundbar with the TV remote. I have the same situation with my external speakers. It's not a big deal for me. But it's something to consider.

  • QuestionThe 55TU8000 features 3 HDMI ports in which of the 3 ports on the back of the television I connect the cable? Please help me.

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer As I understand things, any of the HDMI ports will connect with an HDMI cable to outside devices that have HDMI ports, such as game consoles, speakers, sound bars and cable boxes. This will let you use the TV remote to control those devices. The one marked eARC should go to a sound system because it allows the TV to send enhanced sound that syncs with the video signal. I could not do that with my 55TU8000 because my external speakers don't have an HDMI port. So one of the HDMI ports on the back of my TV is connected to my DVD player, and the other one, which is eARC, is connected to my cable box. If I understand right, I'm not putting the eARC port to its best use. But with my wall-mounted TV, I had a neater connection with that back-facing port. The third HDMI port is side-facing and would need a longer cable. That would be harder to tuck away, out of sight. I hope my long explanation at least partially answers your question. Samsung support reps and other owners, please correct me and clarify as needed.

    Asked by JoAnn.

    • Answer MyTU8000 has screen mirroring and AirPlay that I use with my iPhone, and it seems that it also would work with iPads. I did have to buy a WiFi extender, though, to get my router signal around a corner and strong enough to stay connected.

  • QuestionDoes this TV automatically select the strongest wi-fi signal (2.4gHz or 5gHz)? As I understand things, my wi-fi-router and extender operate simultaneously with both, and 5gHz is best for streaming video, etc.

    Asked by subverb.

    • Answer When you set up an internet connection on the TV, similar to a computer, it will show available networks to choose from. Next to the names of the available networks will be a bar that shows how strong the signal is for each one. You would simply click whichever is the strongest, wait for it to connect, and boom you're done. I also have an extender, so my regular internet is "networkname" and the network through my extender is "networkname5G" (which means it's the 5gHz signal). It depends on the extender you have (mine is netgear). If your extender has settings that you can go into, you may be able to change the name of the networks so you know which one has the strongest signal. I hope that helps.
