The dual burner has two gas flames, burns hotter than the other burners -- great for large volume cooking or canning. The layout is four burners with a griddle in the middle, and each burner has a different amount of power -- check the website for details. To eliminate food odors when cooking, you would need a hood or ceiling fan, but the range itself doesn't have one.
