A:AnswerI purchased a vizio 5.1 soundbar and found that it could be connected using either a HDMI or optical connection. Because my TV only has two HMDI ports, I connected it using the provided optical cable. Sound from the TV was good. For what it is worth, however, I returned my Vizio soundbar because I found that I could not get Chromecast to work for purposes of streaming music. I was more interested in using the soundbar for music streaming than I was for TV sound, so the Vizio product did not meet my needs.
