• ARC is basically a specialized HDMI port that permits the tv to "talk both ways" to the A/V receiver on the other end. Using this HDMI port is ideal for A/V type receivers (sound bars and the like) because the signal goes both ways allowing the tv to turn on/off the A/V receiver when needed.
