The TV itself doesn't caption anything. It's a function of whatever app or service you are viewing. If an app, show, DVD, etc have captions to display, this TV will display them. I'm hard of hearing myself so I understand the importance of that.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it does support closed captioning. I use Xfinity and often go back and forth using the cable remote for closed captioning. Also,the program being watched on Netflix,Prime Video,Britbox or others will have its own option for closed captioning that can be selected using the Samsung remote.
