“We have the TV on a stand in a bright lit room in the corner. At night the lights in the kitchen and hallway (45 ft. away) make the glare unbearable. We don't want to shut off every light in the house to watch TV, any suggestions ? Thank you”

Use intelligent mode and it should adjust brightness so you can see pic with ease.
