I'm going to do this, since both the washer and dryer need to be put on a pedestal and I want to get them closer to the back wall. My plan, actually, is to vent through the bottom into the pedestal and then out to the side. Everything that I've seen on the web indicates that this can be done with the standard side vent kit. I have seen this machine vented through the side on the left and, purportedly there is a kind of "knock out" in the left panel that allows side venting. I don't know how much of a hassle, however, that might turn out to be.

Some disassembly is required to install the Side Vent Kit, so Samsung recommends having it done by a qualified installer to ensure it's done safely. Thanks for your question, Ms. Samsung
