• The Y connection that is sent with the dryer connects to the water supply for the washer. They are inter-connected. Be careful which model you purchase, because sometimes this connection is not supplied. Ours was.

• Hi Joe, The DV42H5400EW comes with a Y-connector and hose to connect it to the Washer or directly to your home's cold water supply, so it doesn't require a manual fill. Thanks for your interest, Ms. Samsung
