A:Answer While you CAN lay it down, as with any liquid crystal or plasma display, you definately SHOULD NOT. The physical weight of the screen material is not supported from behind and will flex. If you ever have to lay this type of display flat, it should always be face-down on firm, padded, level surface; and, only temporarily (as in during install.) Flat panel displays SHOULD never be transported flat. Especially large ones. At the end of the day, you have to ask whether skipping out on the delivery fee or the $19.99 truck rental is worth the cost of potentially replacing a damaged TV.
