“Can this be used as an external drive? Im worried about the not using the right SATA to USB cables, picking the wrong enclosure, having compatibility issues with Apple or Microsoft. I'll be using this to store music. This 4TB same price as 2TB external.”

It can be used as an internal or external usb drive. You just need a SATA cable or connection.
