    • Answer So long as it has an extra open name slot it should work fine. I am unaware if this specific laptop has an extra gen 5 compatible slot, so I would recommend looking into that. If not, perhaps go with a gen four ssd like the 990 pro.

    • Answer You will be able to reach Gen4 level read/write speeds. And another factor to keep in mind is to review documentation by your laptop manufacturer. If they say that laptop will "support" Gen5 SSD that means it will tolerate a Gen5 not fully utilize the speed advantage offered by the disk that you paid a premium for over the Gen4 equivalent.
