- Answer The washer was on the recall list, mine was promptly replaced with the new washer with "the fix" by Best Buy when Samsung got the problem fixed. There are currently no more of the washers with the problem the recall was for being sold-all that stock was recalled and replaced. Same washer, other than addressing that problem.

QuestionWhat was changed with this model vs the previous models that have all been recalled? I'd like to know how Samsung remedied the issue because this model is identical to some that were recalled.

- Answer The newer models apparently have been remedied. However, I do not recommend this machine or the brand. We bought this from Best Buy last year August and it has been out of order for almost a month now. Samsung has been giving us the run around with repairs and not replacing the machine or giving us a refund. We are still waiting for the repairman to come by for the 4th time to see what else he can do.

QuestionCan I buy just the washer without the dryer? I don't need a new dryer, but the salesman in store told me they have to 'sync together' in order to work properly.

- Answer You should be able to purchase one without the other. That is the sales person trying to make a sale. You can always call customer service or try and go to another store

QuestionWhat is the depth of the activewash tub?

- Answer It is rather deep. I am 5' 1" and I use a stool to retrieve some items out of the washer. If you are not flexible enough to use a stool and hang over the edge, I would not recommend buying this type of machine.

- Answer It does not. However the tub spins as it fills and jets spill water on the clothes as it fills. I just got this washer two weeks ago and really like it.

QuestionDoes this model redistribute the load at the beginning of wash? Current washer is on the recall list and it throws all of the load to one side at the beginning of each cycle. I have to wait and redistribute the load so that the water covers everything.

- Answer My WA48J7700AW/A2 does redistribute and weigh the load at the beginning of the wash. I really haven't watched to see if water covers everything, but the clothing comes out fully rinsed and clean, with no discernible soap residue.

- Answer I can't answer if you can buy the tray separately but maybe I can help you with your wife :) I have the washer with the tray and I thought I'd REALLY like it, but I don't. It's only good until you decide to wash something. If you have something soaking and want to wash a different load, the tray must be lifted in order to start that load. For example, if you're soaking something in bleach and you need to wash a load that does not require bleach, you can't. You either have to wash a load with bleach or wash JUST that one soaking piece. I don't mind that I have it since I did buy it, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it or say it's a definite must have.

- Answer It's on the dial. You have to let the regular cycle finish, then spin dial to the "rinse & spin" cycle.
