Best Buy told me it could with a special tool. Don't know what tool they were speaking of. I do wish one could take it on and put it back on easily.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it can! Underneath the washer lid, where the sink/basket connects to the lid, you can press on a "latch" on either side to release it. It does not affect the workings of the machine. I found this out by doing some investigative work for my Mom who needs a new washer!
