It can be removed easily... and does not affect the machines performance. Remove by gently pressing on area where the underside of the lid connects to where the basket is attached. We did it in the store prior to purchasing and would not have purchased if it was not removable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you can bang your head on the basin if you're not careful removing clothes. You just have to be aware of it. I have read a review that says the basin is removable, but we haven't tried to remove it yet. By the way, the washer is really deep; my 5'3" wife has trouble reaching to the bottom of the machine. We have one of those grabbers, that comes in handy for her, lol.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, it can! There is a little latch on the bottom side of the lid near where the basket is attached to the machine. It can be removed and does not affect the performance of the washer!! :)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I was told by Best Buy that yes, it can be removed but requires special tools to do the job.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Thanks for your interest in the WA52J8700AW. The built-in sink cannot be removed when not in use to ensure it's available and easily accessed when you do need it. When you aren't using the sink, it locks to the lid and lifts up and out of the way when the lid is opened. - Ms. Samsung
