I'm not an expert but I think the answer to your question is no. They have revamped W8 to have the option of a touch screen or look more like W7 if using your mouse. We have two company computers that run W8 and they are set up to look like W7 but if you move to far to the left or hit the wrong key, it takes you to the W8 main screen which is better suited for touch screens. However, it's very easy to get back to the more basic W7 looking screens.
