We have a total of 4 Samsung Chromebook 3's. They have nearly replaced all the windows machines- except for the occasional windows only app or CD that needs to be run. One member in my house is a writer and he uses Google Doc's(if your novel is in Word or Writer you will need to open with Google Doc's) to write his short novels. Everything stays in the cloud ( Google ) so space isn't going to be a problem. You may add a micro sd card for additional local storage as an option or USB whichever you feel is better. If you are adding images to your book - you might need to install a Chrome Extension that would handle the image editing. These addon image editors are fairly powerful but NOT a replacement for something from Adobe or Corel. For Writing - I think you will be well suited to a Chromebook and you might find that you use it for most everything else too! It's almost indestructible too :) Though you can use it standalone - remember most benefits will arise from your use of the free Google cloud-based services.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
