You might be better off buying an external hard drive and putting all the files and MP4 or AVI format that way you are able to just play them through the sub menu on the Blu-ray player. For your particular problem you might have to download a software update for the program a lot of players though however striction's on allowing burned media to be played but if you have the file on the hard drive it just plays the file as if it was a home movie and they're not able to check it
