Update to my original question. After trying two of these phones and contacting Tracfone customer service, it was determined something was wrong with the phones since they could not get this to work. Returned both and gave up on this model. Ordered the Samsung Galaxy J7 Crown and activated it this weekend. So far so good.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine activated fine as well. Then had problems with getting any signal strength which affected the texts. Dialed *228 and restarted phone. Then installed some updates and restarted phone. Now it seems to get a better signal and my texts are consistently sent and received.
