My daughter needed a phone, hers was pd for, and due to shopping around for my monies worth, I found an amazing deal at Best Buy with an unlocked phone. So long answer short yes you can get all of the perks when needing a new phone just do some comparison shopping for your "best" deal. Sorry had to give them another plug.
