A far as I know that "24 months" is for Verizon. As the trade in does not apply to you, you may want to consider just buying it outright UNLOCKED. When I asked Best Buy about buying outright they immediately talked about the UNLOCKED version until I mentioned my carrier was Verizon, then we spoke about the payment plan.

You would still get the BB credit. The trade-in program from Verizon (which you are not using) will spread the trade in credit over the 24 months. Early payoff in this case will nullify the bill credits for any remaining months.
