I just talked to Verizon Rep and they said that if purchased from BestBuy all you would have to do is log-in to MyVerizon app and goto the bottom of the screen and select trade-in program, fill out the information and they would send a prepaid shipping box for your old phone and a receipt that needs to be signed showing what your trade-in amount will be.
I would recommend:
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Just received an email for BestBuy notifying me that my Note 8 has been shipped and will arrive tomorrow. So I logged into verizonwireless.com, selected Device Trade-in Program under Service & Support at the lower left part of the webpage. Then followed directions on the screen. Verizon will be sending me a box to return the G6. Received $480 for the G6 as stated on the BestBuy website. It was very easy.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I talked to Verizon. They said "you need to buy Note 8 directly from Verizon to get the up to 50% off with trade-in. You will see the special upto $480 off (50%) trade-in option during the pre-order process. If you separately request a trade-in it cannot be up to 50%". I also talked to Bestbuy and they said "You can get 50% off with Verizon trade-in AFTER you buy from Bestbuy and you need to login Verizon website to request the trade-in". BestBuy website also advertise "Up to 50% off Samsung Galaxy Note8..... ..., and get the phone for as low as $12.75/month after additional $150 savings". Verizon and Bestbuy contradict each other. Who is right?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The question now is "how do we process the trade-in?" How will Verizon know to honor the promo credit if the device wasn't purchased directly from them? Do we just select our current device when we go to process the trade in and hope they know to look at our accounts to adjust our bill $20/month?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is the response I received from Verizon regarding trading in to them after buying from Best Buy. Alex : Upon checking the $150.00 off is a promotion that is available through Best Buy. The order needs to be made through Bet Buy to avail of the promotion. The $117.00 trade in value you are seeing is just an estimate. The amount can be higher depending on the condition of your device. You : I see that part about buying through Best Buy, but on their site (and the Verizon aite when preordering a Note 8) it says the trade in value of S6 edge plus goes up to $336. Does Verizon honor the $336 trade in if the purchase is made through Best Buy? That is what Best Buy is using as their promotion and I wanted to verify. Alex : Yes, we are partners with Best Buy and we do honor any promotions they have for the Note 8 You : Great, thank you! Alex : You're welcome!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have pre ordered the note 8 from BB and am getting the run around from both BB and Verizon regarding the trade in - BB says to trade in at Verizon and Verizon says they don't offer the trade in if ordered thru BB - ??? Anybody in authority know whats going on and what the procedure is ???
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Just clarified with Verizon. The up to 50% off promotion is through Verizon only. While you can still purchase from Best Buy and trade-in your phone through Verizon, but will qualify for the the promotion (meaning a lower credited amount). For example, if you purchase the Note 8 through Verizon and trade-in a Note 5, you get 50% off or $480 dollars for the Note 5. If you purchase through Best Buy and trade-in via Verizon the credit for a Note 5 is only $128. This also assumes it is in Good condition ($64 if damaged). You can check the appraised value at https://www.verizonwireless.com/promos/device-trade-in/ , once you've entered your phone information the site will also pull up eligible promotions like the 50% off.
