• Google Play Store will give you plenty of alts with user ratings. I have used MapFactor GPS Navigation and Maps for Spain with great satisfaction for road navigation. Have not used any of the trekking apps so far.

• You should be able as the GPS is used with glonass worldwide gps...I use the the tablet outside of U.S in Mexico and I do get good mapping.

• As long as you have WiFi available, yes.
