It is a sample and will stop giving full function in a short period of time. You will then have to shell out $65 to get office 365 each year for as long as you wish to keep office. If you are a power user this is not a bad deal. If you are a causal user you might try free office ,which serve most people with a word processor, a spread sheet and a presentation program.
