“Is this device MHL friendly meaning can it be used to plug directly into tvs without wireless connection?”

• Unfortunately no. You have to use "Smart View" and it only works with a smart TV. I haven't been able to direct plug any device into a TV since my SG5 cell phone and my original Kindle Fire. Ah, remember the good old days when connections were simple and just used a cord.
