• Yes, you absolutely can. This feature doesn't work with Apple phones, but with androids, it does. You can open the Texts app on your watch and see previous texts and even send ones from your watch. Your phone MUST be nearby (in your pocket or in the same room) because the watch needs to be connected to you phone via bluetooth to send the text.

• Yes using Samsung's texting app. I use googles Google's texting app on my s10 and I can only start a text convo via bixby using voice.. which works great
