• Yes this monitors your heart rate.. and yes you can be alerted when you heart rate is at a certain increased level for more than 10 mins

• Hello Carguy11, great question! You can receive HR alerts from your watch if your heart rate is above a certain level for 10 minutes when resting. ^Elizabeth
