If you bought the unlocked version that is 5G, you would need to get a new phone number for it. It's definitely worth it though. These watches are absolutely amazing.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It should be a very minimal fee iff anything and tied directlly to the same line yoou use with your phone. I didn't buy the LTE version , and i'm hoping i never regret that part... I've thought about how nice it would be if my phone had a dead battery or was lost to still have the LTE connection to be able to possibly locate it or at least still be able to contact people. The battery life isn't that great (it does last more than 1 day for me which is fine IMO) but I'm not sure there is much that could be done to make it better. If you make a habit of throwing it on the charger when you hop in the shower and at other random points in the day where y ou don't need the watch to be on, you'll never have anything to worry about IMO. Also, it does charge pretty rapidly between ~20-80% so if you're in that range you can get a lot of charge oout off it very quickly.

I have Verizon and on the plan we are on we pay $20 per line per month. Then you have to pay the usual nonsense taxes they make up on each line which totals about $5. So on a Verizon family plan like mine it's about $25 per month for the LTE watch.

If you buy the BT model, there is absolutely no need to get its own service as it rely 100% on the phone. That said, it works only when in proximity with phone. The LTE version might be different though.
