I have a Samsung Galaxy J3 ($80 on sale at Best Buy) with Virgin Mobile. I went to a Best Buy and asked the 'Samsung' Rep if this was compatible, she said 'no' and was very rude. I decided to buy the Samsung Gear Fit 2 anyway and if I couldn't sync it up, then I would return it. Wow, I am so glad I didn't listen to the Rep, who happened to be WRONG. I'm a novice with any type of electronics and only switched to a smart phone June '16. After 2 tries the watch sync'd to my phone and has worked OUTSTANDING ever since. I bought an 'open box' online from Best Buy January 7, 2017. There are so many features and absolutely love it. I would say- GIVE IT A TRY. The Samsung Galaxy J7 is an upgrade from the J3.
