• no I believe your phone would need to be s5 and up.

• The Gear S2 is compatible with any Android phone running Android 4.4 and higher as long as it has at least 1.5GB of RAM. I know that the S3 mini only has 1GB of RAM so you may be out of luck :/ . I am not 100% sure, but I do not believe the S3 mini got Android 4.4 either, you can check this by going to Settings > About Phone > Android Version If you don't see that option then look for something titled Software Information. Otherwise Best Buy Mobile can definitely help you get a new phone! ;)
