I have helped two friends setup a Verizon Prepaid Plan. One was a Gusto 2 in 2012 and the other was a Gusto 3 in 2017. The plan for each phone was different and the activation procedure was also different, so I'm not sure if the phones are compatible. I have never tried activating a new phone to an existing plan so I suggest checking with Verizon tech support to be sure. Sorry, this is probably not much help.
