- Answer Hello Mac. No, you do not need to connect the rear speakers included with the HW-Q850D Soundbar. Without the rear speakers, you will get a 5.1.2 channel sound instead of 7.1.2. ~ Samsung Solutions

- Answer Although the "Samsung Rep" answered that these are compatible, my experience is they are not. Only the left speaker will connect. I have tried all the troubleshooting suggestions I could find but I can only deduce that no, these are NOT compatible as I can only get one speaker to connect.

- Answer Hi Peter. The included speaker wire for the HW-Q850D Soundbar each are about 13 ft long. You can use different speaker wire, however to connect the wire to the wireless module you will need to connect the wires to the same type of jack attached to the provided speaker wire. ~ Samsung Solutions

- Answer this is false, the sea-9500s is not compatible with the hw-q850d. I've tried 2 new sets of the 9500s with my 850d and only one rear speaker will pair. After hours on the phone with Samsung tech trying to reset the sounder and id setting the speakers nothing works. Finally last tech support says rear speakers are not compatible .

QuestionRoku tv & HW-Q850D. I’m trying to only increase the volume of the rear speakers. The rear speakers are 23 feet behind me & the TV 7 feet in front of me. Every time I use the rear channel level volume it increases the volume for all speakers.

- Answer Hi Fedora. Using the HW-Q850D Soundbar's provided remote. Press CH LEVEL and select REAR LEVEL or REAR TOP LEVEL, then use the Up/Down buttons to adjust the volume within a -6 to +6 range. Alternatively, you can adjust all of these same settings and more within the SmartThings app. Download the app for your iOS or Android device and then connect your Soundbar to Wi-Fi. From here, you will be able to adjust all of the same settings as the provided remote, but with the added benefit of being able to see the changes on your smart device. - Answer Contrary to their response, yes you can use existing speakers. The connection from the wireless module to the speakers is infact wired, so you could utilize your existing speaker wires. But, you should definitely pay attention to the impedance. I have a similar setup where I did this.

- Answer Hi Tazz! Yes, by pressing the CH LEVEL button, you can adjust the volume of the available channels. Each time you press the CH LEVEL button it will switch to a different channel such as Center, Front Top, or Rear Level. After selecting the channel you wish to adjust, use the UP/DOWN buttons on the provided Soundbar remote to adjust the volume between -6 to +6. ~ Samsung Solutions

- Answer No, the rear speakers must be connected with the included wires to the rear speaker module which itself has a wireless connection to the SB. This allows you to place it in the back of the room and connect the speakers to it without having wires go all the way across the room from the TV.
