I'm using it that way to hold my iTunes library for my Mac. I have it connected to my Time Capsule. It should work on a PC as well, but I'm not good at telling one how to do it. You'll need to have it mounted across the wifi network onto your PC in order to use it though. Works like a champ.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It should work! Just format the hard drive to exFAT32. Mac & Windows should be able to read and write. And you won't be limited to 4gb file.
