Is this 3d? The Samsung website shows the model bd-c6500 is a 3d blueray player, but the one on bestbuy is not. Is this a different model or is there some reason it is labelled that way?

It depends on your definition of 3D player as this capability has actually changed in the last few years.
For the most part the model BD-C6500 is NOT a 3D player as the new standard sits. There is a model out there with almost the same model number but it should have at least two more letters after the 6500 that designates it as the 3D version. It can be found at the Best Buy website.

I'm sorry for the confusion. The BD-C6500 is not a 3D BD player.
