HDMI stands for High Definition Multimedia Interface, which is a fancy word for the cable that you connect the Blu-ray player to your television. HDMI is a pure digital cable, which means that the picture is 100% digital and that no picture quality is lost in the transfer between the source (The Blu-Ray player, for instance) and a television display. HDMI cables can range in price, and would be best addressed by retail salesperson. Thanks for your interest in Samsung products. --HDTech
