- Answer Although this is a question better asked to Netflix them selves, technically, the BD-C5500 should receive HD programing from their service. Please note, HD programing and subsequently the programming's overall quality, is subject to your internet speed. Higher speeds will allow for better quality programing. -MrSamsung

- Answer No, but the power button remains lit so it's not completely dark when off. It's not very bright though, in my opinion, and doesn't light up the room if you're worried about that.

- Answer not sure what ferrit cores are, but neither of the two refurbished units I bought smell like smoke. They appear (and smell) brand new.

- Answer As a matter of fact, you sh0ould be able to control the BD-C5500 Blu-Ray Player's functionality with the PN58C500's remote control as long as Anynet+ is activated on both devices, and the BD-C5500 is connected to the TV via HDMI. Anynet+ is a function that operates through HDMI 1.3/1.4 jacks and lets you control up to twelve Samsung devices with your Samsung TV remote, with up to three of those devices being of the same type (for example, three DVD players). You can only use Anynet+ with Samsung devices that have the Anynet+ feature. -MrSamsung

- Answer The tos link on your tv is for output to a receiver. The DVD player will connect to your TV via an HDMI cable which transmits digital sound (not analog). You might hear a modest improvement in sound quality over an analog (RCA) DVD connection to your TV, but TV sound is really determined by the quality of the TV's speakers (which are usually pretty poor). You would connect the DVD to the TV via HDMI, then output that sound via the TVs tos link to a receiver (that's one configuration--there are many others depending on how many components you have, like DVR, gaming system, etc. and what you want to do your sound switching--TV or receiver). An AV associate at any electronics store other than Wal-Mart should be able to help you find the right setup if you need to hook up more than a DVD, TV and receiver.

I prefer not to use my recorder as a playback device I've read that a player that has a dedicated playback has a clearer Picture quaility compared to DVD recorders?

- Answer If you power it off, it will most likely restart from the beginning. However, if you remember the chapter you were on, you can skip forward to that chapter. HDTech

- Answer Although I do not have any information about your current system, I can say that if your system offers audio inputs, you can use the BD-C5500 as your player/Netflix machine. Just connect the BD-C5500's audio output to the surround sound system, then the video to the TV. -MrSamsung

Questionhdmi cable says "included"here's a copy/paste directly from the website: "1 HDMI output HDMI cable included. High-speed HDMI cable is the only connection that can deliver a Blu-ray experience with a full 1080p picture and digital surround sound." your previous answers stated that the cable is not included, but it clearly says, under product features, that the cable is included. that cable is the sole reason i am choosing this product over others available. please confirm

- Answer In order to connect your BD-C5500 to the internet, you must use either a Samsung Linkstick to connect to a wireless home network (router) or a ethernet cable to connect to a wired network (router). Unfortunately, a home network will be required. The network capable Samsung devices cannot connect directly to a PC, Laptop or other internet capable devices for internet or network connectivity. -MrSamsung
