I connect the UE590 to my MacBook Pro (2016) with a DisplayPort to USB-3 connector. I wasn't able to get a great image running at full 4K resolution. I ended up sticking with what my Mac wanted to use as the native resolution which was HD with pixel doubling. The image looks great, but I don't get the same usable real estate as I do with my Benq QHD monitor. But of course, the image looks much sharper, almost retina quality.

That depends on what model Mac Pro you have. For mine I use a mini DP to DP cable.
