So all speakers contain all the sound you hear. The separation will be the bar will contain majority of the clear voice or mid to high range sounds. Where the subwoofer will enhance with the lows or deep undertones of all sounds and enrich vocals. If you are hearing to much of the sub sounds. Try moving its location a little at a time until it blends with the sound bar itself. The satellite speakers if you have them will give you a surround sound and give you a more in the scene feel.
