The drive is 7200 rpm and it's a SATA2 drive, not a SATA3. SATA2 transfer speeds are the 3Gbps and SATA3 are 6Gbps. Some older systems do not have SATA3 ports, and will automatically transfer data at 3Gbps even to a SATA3 drive.

7200 RPM and its a 6gb/sec SATA max transfer rate (its just backwards compatible for 3gb/sec SATA. info taken aquired off the specs of the box.
