• Not sure, but it doesn't matter. This drive is for any SATA desktop that holds a 3.5" internal hard drive. It can be formatted into any format, DOS, Linux, Unix, Windows, etc. Not MAC, they use a "special" drive format & drive.

• No, just regular 512b sectors on this guy. Advanced format drives are about 10 times the price.
