If the box says two Years that means two years. Some of them has up to 5 years warranty. So you have always double check it.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hard drive manufacturers in the past, 10 years or so ago, had fairly long term warranties. In recent years, in Seagate's case, this went from 5 to 3, then to 2 years warranty. I'm afraid that 2 years is most likely what you'll get for a warranty, but the product may last longer depending on usage. I still have 1 hard drive that had a 5 years warranty, but it's still going strong at 8 years.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Seagate has been known to extend their warranties to 5 years if you can prove it was an actual failure on their part. I would save and print that page you saw with the 5 year warranty, because they would then have to honor it, in my opinion.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Seagate only does 5 years on server line HDs which generally cost more. 2 years is still pretty generous as most other manufactures have gone to 1 year on desktop hard drives.

Best to assume everything in the electronics world is a 1 year warranty unless thoroughly printed. In this case 2 years. :)
